I didn't set out to build an internet company. I was an electrician and a housebuilder — that was the trade, that was the plan. Then my body started saying no. Arms, back, feet — all over. When the tools stop being an option, you have to find something else to do.

There was no lightbulb moment. No grand vision. My co-founder Øyvind asked if I wanted to try building something with him, and I said: let's go for it. Three or four months ago I hadn't even heard the word "affiliate." I started from absolute scratch.

Learning it was brutal. I felt stupid for a solid month. And I'll be honest — without AI I could never have done this. No chance in the world. It's the only reason a housebuilder with no background got anywhere near code.

I made the classic beginner's mistake too: instead of two or three sites done properly, I built twenty-three at once. There's about a 90% chance I have ADHD — starting things comes easy, finishing is the hard part. That's exactly why there are so many sites. But the same wiring that scatters me is the wiring that got every one of them off the ground.

It hasn't paid off yet, and I can laugh about that. But once in my life I pushed and pushed and actually finished what I started — 16-to-20-hour days, then having to stop completely, no internet for three to five days, just to come back down. My head is always chasing the next thing. And somehow, in the middle of all of it, I built two software products — ContentForger and Brainloop — at the same time.

Not a million dollars — though I won't say no.

Here's what "it worked" looks like to me. Just this: helping a couple of real people make a good financial decision that makes life a little easier, and being able to do this for a living. Not checking my account before I go shopping. Not borrowing to get through the last five days before payday. That's the whole dream. If I get there, it was worth it.
